Corrugated asbestos roofing, old garages and super six fences are the most common asbestos jobs in the region. They're also the most weathered, which makes them the ones not to leave. Removed whole, wrapped and disposed of lawfully.
Asbestos cement is at its safest when it's sealed and undisturbed. Forty years of Ballarat frost, hail and sun does the opposite. Roof sheeting and fences go brittle, the cement matrix erodes, and the surface can start releasing fibres, particularly when moss gets scrubbed off, panels crack in a storm, or someone walks on a fragile roof. If your corrugated roofing or fencing pre-dates 1990 and is showing its age, plan the removal now rather than waiting for storm damage to force it.
Any roof over 10 square metres legally requires a licensed removalist in Victoria, and that's practically every roof. Every job arranged through this service is done by one. Not sure it's asbestos? Test first.
